GE MRI HD450: technical dismantling & export preparation
A focused MRI project covering technical dismantling, protective packaging and export preparation for a GE MRI HD450 system.

Defined technical scope
Sun Care’s work for this GE MRI HD450 system comprised technical dismantling, protective packaging of the equipment and preparation for export. The sections below describe what that scope involves; project-specific details such as the site, the export destination and the exact work dates are not part of the confirmed record for this unit.
Dismantled in the order it was built
An MRI comes apart in the reverse order of its installation. Covers, patient table, coils, gradient and RF cabinets, power and control electronics and the cable runs between them are separated step by step, with connectors protected and every component and cable labelled against the system drawings. The point is not simply to take the system apart — it is to leave a set of parts that a receiving engineer can reassemble without guesswork.
Protection is what travels
The magnet is the heaviest, most delicate and most expensive item in the system, and the journey — not the dismantling — is where damage usually happens. Components are wrapped against moisture, padded against shock, secured onto skates or pallets and crated so that nothing shifts under load. Electronics are handled against static discharge and sealed against humidity.
Prepared for the next site
Export preparation is a documentation task as much as a technical one. Crates are marked, weights and dimensions recorded and an inventory of labelled components prepared, so the freight forwarder can plan the load and the receiving team knows exactly what arrived and in what condition.
