GE Signa 1.5T MRI: Jeddah to India
A 2023 MRI export project connecting Jeddah with India. Sun Care’s recorded scope covered dismantling, packing and export preparation for a GE Signa 1.5T system.
Technical preparation for an international move
The project brought together MRI dismantling, packing and export preparation for a GE Signa 1.5 Tesla system, as part of its 2023 international move from Jeddah to India. A move that crosses a border raises the cost of every mistake: a component damaged in transit cannot be swapped from the local store, and a crate that does not match its paperwork stops at the port.
From a working room to a sealed container
The system was dismantled in the reverse order of its installation, with connectors protected and components labelled against the system drawings. The magnet — the heaviest and most delicate item — was then moved out along a planned route through the building, protected, secured and loaded. Access width, floor loading and lifting points are settled before anything is disconnected, because the route decides how the system has to come apart.
Export is a paperwork discipline too
Export preparation covered the crating, marking, weights, dimensions and the inventory of labelled components that the freight forwarder and the receiving team both work from. The aim is that the system arrives in India as a documented, reassemblable set of parts — not as a container of equipment someone has to identify on the floor.
